LG meluncurkan Optimus 4X HD untuk pasar Eropa Barat. Optimus 4X HD tercatat sebagai smartphone pertama yang dibekali dengan prosesor Quad-Core. Prosesor ini didukung dengan chipset NVIDIA 1.5GHz Tegra 3. LG membenamkan Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Prosesor NVIDIA Tegra 3 merupakan 4 plus 1 quad core mobile processor yang dirancang untuk performansi multimedia dengan kualitas tinggi. Prosesor ini didukung dengan sistem baterai 50 core yang mampu menghandle kebutuhan catu daya rendah seperti untuk posisi stand by atau memutar musik.

Prosesor terbaru NVIDIA juga mampu menampilkan grafis yang sangat baik. Saat bekerja dengan kecepatan penuh, misalnya, 12 core graphics processing unit (GPU) pada Tegra 3 mampu menghasilkan tampilan visual yang kaya serta tampilan dengan kualitas game console saat memainkan game.

LG membenamkan Quick Memo untuk meningkatkan produktivitas serta  Media Plex untuk multimedia.
Quick Memo di smartphone ini merupakan versi terbaru. Catatan yang di share bisa di klik dan terhubung secara langsung ke sebuah halaman website.

Media Plex juga versi terbaru. Ia merupakan seperangkat peranti lunak foto dan pemutar video di smartphone yang selama ini hanya dijumpai di laptop atau PC.

Fingertip yang mampu menampilkan preview video dengan menyentuh bar. Live Zooming yang memungkinkan pengguna melakukan zoom in atau zoom out sebelum memutar video.

Video Speed Control untuk mengontrol kecepatan video. Thumbnail List Play yang memberikan thumbnails suatu video pada saat pengguna menonton video lain dengan layar yang penuh.

LG membekali 4X HD dengan kamera 8 mega piksel BSI (Backside Illumination) dengan LED Flash terintegrasi. Ada aplikasi pengolah foto untuk mendapatkan hasil optimal.

Untuk koneksi ke peranti lain ada MHL (Mobile High Definition Link) dan DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance). Artinya, ada tersedia banyak pilihan saat smartphone akan dikoneksikan ke peranti lain seperti TV atau display layar lebar.
